So what ever you want to call them, pre-runner bars, bumper bars, does anyone make one that goes over the factory bumper? I had one on my old superduty and loved the way it looked. I got it second hand so I'm not sure who exactly made it.
I really don't mind the factory bumper but want to add something to it. Would I be better to have someone fab something for me or is there and off the shelf unit I can get?
I got this one 2 years ago. Moved it to my new truck. It has an eld bar. Easy to install. They change the light under warranty. Was getting water inside. I think it was $550
I do have the front camera but as long as I dont throw huge off road lights on it like before I should be alright. I went looking through N-fabs stuff because I couldn't remember if they made the one on my old crew cab or not. I found this on their 2004 page.
Now I'm pretty sure that is not a 2004. N-fab bar
So I emailed N-fab about the bar to confirm it will fit. The last response I got was that the CS rep confirmed with their R&D department that they do not make the bar for our style of trucks. I asked why Stage 3 Motorsports had it for sale and sent him a screenshot of the same picture I posted....... I have not seen a reply to my last email.
NFab recently got bought by Truck Hero, I'm being their support staff just isn't familiar with their products yet. I've seen that bar on a truck, so I know they make it.... Or at least did.
here's a pic of the N-Fab bar. it took 6 weeks to get it and i think it was $170. i have 360 camera system and light bar does appear in the image out of proportion but i can still see what's in front. N-fab bar has 4 mounting holes and you can use easily any LED (with appropriate width - I used 20" main and 6" side lights) that has bottom mounts that slide.
So I got a reply from Nfab and they are still saying it wont fit the new trucks. Not sure how to get them to explain how they can inadvertently advertise it fitting a newer style truck. Is there any difference that could explain why this wont fit?
Well I got the "Official you were right now **** off" email.
Hello from N-FAB Inc.,
We appreciate your bringing this to our attention. One of the images in this photo gallery is of the newer 2017 Ford F250 Super Duty Crew Cab. This is a generic image being used to showcase the construction of the front pre-runner bar. The mounting method between the year ranges of the Ford Super Duty trucks will vary. Upon purchasing a product, please be sure to use the part number listed by your vehicle application.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
I must of received the older style or their pic is wrong but according to my invoice the part number is 401-F174LB-TX. I had absolutely no problems installing it. Just remove two bolts on each tow hook put the bar in place and put bolts back in. It's a hefty piece of metal and might even prevent damage to the bumper on a slow impact. The lights are mounted recessed to the front so the bar should also take any impact before the lights.
So I spoke with Stage 3 Motorsports yesterday and according to their info the bar in question from Nfab will in fact fit the newer trucks. I discussed with the rep from S3M my email traffic with Nfab and stage 3 is going to research this more for me. Let's see what happens.......
this is the link to autoanything for the NFab light bar for 2017 F250. I noticed it is available from a number of online retailers. There are 2 styles and 2 colors available. Seem to be about the same price at each site.
