PCM Cluster Replacement Question
Ok so here's a technical question i hope someone can answer.
Hypothetical situation
1. If i have a 2020 XLT F350 with a 6.7. And i buy a cluster and PCM from a salvage unit with the same specifications (2020 XLT 6.7) can i just swap it intothe new truck and it work, or does it need to be programmed to work with the new truck by Ford.
2. If i can just swap them will the new truck see the settings that were on the salvaged truck and go with that.
After i do modifications to the original PCM and cluster on the new truck can i just pop it back in will it works like it did?
In other words you could say I'm asking are they "hot swapable" or do they need to be reprogrammed to the vehicle each time i put it in.
