ok. i have a 95 F150 flare side with a 5sp MT. the engine is the bulletproof 300. i searched on here and found that i can swap instrument clusters so i can get one with a tach. in it which would be very nice. as far as that goes, as long as i can locate on the same year, is it just a plug and play? i saw that it said i would be using the everything in the new cluster except taking the spedo. out of the old and placing the new. so once i do that, even though some of the guages are in different places on the new cluster compared to the old, everything should work out rite? harness still the same.? if that is the case do i just do that simple swap, plug it in and whala! it works? or do i have to do some seperate wiring? anyone who has done this, or has pictures of their install, and has any pointers would be much appreciated. i read all of the article, it just seemed a little "vague". thanks.
as i stated above i have already searched and read the article, and again, it still seemed a little vague on everything.. my main question is whether or not i just plug the new cluster in with the tach if it will just work right off the bat or what.
The speedo center section is the same in both tach and non tach clusters. You need a 94 or 95 cluster for the tach/cluster swap. Yes it is plug and play as far as the harness is concerned. Take out old and put in new. Done.
