Low rust salvage yards in the U.S

I just turned 14 and my grandpa gave me a 1974 f250 highboy and the floor has been patched 2 or 3 times the corners are bad. I was wondering if anyone had a low rust cab for that body build or if someone knew a low rust savage yard that specializes in ford cars/trucks

Why not get a whole new floor and new cab corners. Probably a lot cheaper and easier than swapping the whole cab... IF the rest of the cab is in good shape.

Where are you at? Got pics of your truck?

First off, great choice for a first vehicle!

Second, craigslist.org will be your friend. Check in often and you'll likely find what your looking for. Trucks in the south west will likely be your lowest rust areas in the country.

Finding a cab is the best way to cure rust. A lot less work than doing patches and last longer. Most likely cheaper if you can't weld in new panels yourself.

As vehicles sometime "move around", it's not a guarantee, but usually the least rust is found in the areas where salt or brine is not used on the roads in the winter. This is portions of the west coast, the southwest, or the deep south. Coastal areas are problematic due to the sea influenced air. Some folks never drive their cherished vehicles in the winter.

I still say if the rest of your current cab is solid (drip rails, around the windows, firewall, etc.) is solid and rust free you are better off putting a new floor and cab corners in.

I second that. While you have it open, you will be able to do some rust control that you wouldn't be able to accomplish by switching the cab. Besides, fixing a piece can sometimes be more rewarding than it would b by changing it out. I know it seems like a lot of work but, so is changing the cab. How is the area at the top of the windshield, inside behind the sun visors?
