I have a lot of tools from dad. He was a mechanic a good part of his life and had some trade specific tools, many I have no idea what they where used for, the were the pre-60 autos. One Craftman tool he had was this ratcheting adapter for his 1/2" breaker bar. It comes in real handy on stubborn bolt in a tight place. The gears are warn and it's become useless. I took in to the Sears tool store to see if I could get a replacement or at least order a rebuild kit and the salesman had no idea what it was and he couldn't help me.

When I worked in a Ford shop [1970s ] I bought a lot of snap-on tools , now when I need to replace one , I have to leave it in my truck until I see a snap=on truck , then they don't always have a replacement . It has begun to be a major pain . I tried leaving one at a auto shop but the owner forgot about it and lost the tool before it was replaced

When I worked in the truck body shop the Snap-On man would stop by, I think ever week, and I'd go in to see what had. I usually only bought Craftman because they were half the price, had the same life time replacement warranty. There were a few specialty tools Snap-On had that I bought from them. He also had used tools for sale, tools people turned in on trade for new tools. One tool he was a broke Craftman adjustable wrench for something like $2. I asked why would any would buy it. The Snap-On guy told me I could buy it for $2 and take it to Sears and get a brand new $20 tool. Oh boy!
