Does anybody know if eco mode adjusts transmission tuning or does it affect boost as well. I have a 2019 2.7. Just curious more than anything?
Not sure what it specifically changes other than the pressure required to push the go pedal. It snuffs out heavy-footed drivers, but if you trounce on it, it will get up and move... it just takes a bit, so I suspect it works only on the drive-by-wire. This is like wet/snow mode. You can’t get wheel spin to lose control because it just won’t receive harsh input. I doubt it changes any programming, just his input is received. Sport mode on the other hand, is a different story.
I have a 2019 5.0. In ECO mode it doesn't downshift as much going down hills. It seems to get almost 1 mpg better compared to normal mode on my daily commute.
Ive been using eco mode on a couple hwy trips in my 2019 3.0L PSD and am getting great mileage. Seems to limit shifting and performance, But if you need to get up and go, it still allows that
