2010 F-150 2wd 4.6L 3 Valve I said 3 valve.
Problem one..
Truck vibrates...rough. No check engine lights. Does it differently depending on speed and road type. Shocks or rotor caliper issue perhaps? Driveshaft has been replace with heavy duty aftermarket. Rear Axle rebuilt professionally, new gears and bearings. No change.
Problem two..
A/C clutch, still spins a little when disengaged, Loads engine when engaged rather much. Also can hear bearing noise with stethoscope when disengaged. Time to replace?
Problem three..
Just had..waterpump, thermostat, oil pump, timing gears, tensioners, gears, cam sensors, VCT solenoids, cam phasers replaced. Tenioner on driver side was leaking down creating chain noise on cold startup. Passenger side cam phaser knocked. Quite for a couple of weeks, now driver side knocks... Deal with it and just drive or tune/lockouts maybe?
Or trade it in for a Ram...I've been tempted. Former GM man owning 4 F-150's since but this truck is really getting on my nerves. First 3 Valve.
Does the vibration show at 50 MPH with foot on the gas.. AND when coasting ? Tires can cause a vibration. Varies with speed and road conditions, but normally they continue to vibrate when you have foot OFF the gas.
Bad bearings are always a problem.. Squeak means dry and will fail sometime in the future.
coasting, accelerating, holding speed, it doesn't appear to get worse, road conditions vary the intensity. its not as bad under say 50 or 45, but any faster doesn't yield a rougher vibration. it also shifts up sorta hard depending on the rate of acceleration, especially when cold. shifts down fine. almost feels like something is loose or sticking.
if your coasting, the motor speed drops and the torque converter slips... the driveshaft, rear axle, and all tires remain at the same speed...normally shocks don't vibrate and brake discs don't have an effect unless you are applying the brakes.
