Ford pushes sound through the speakers to make a quiet engine louder? That is one of the most ridiculous things I have EVER heard in the auto industry, embarrassing. Chevy should make a commercial about this!
You are funny. It was only piped through speakers to cover up the EcoBoost to make it sound like a V-8, which Mercedes has only been doing for like 20 years. It’s NOT to make it louder. Go home Chevy Boy! 😜
I have an F150 and an F450 in my driveway right now, never owned a cheby. It’s stupid to fake noise, period. No disrespect to the ecoboost... JMHO
I can't wait to try it tomorrow. I think it is a bizarre feature but I'm interested in seeing how it sounds. I bought my first tank of gas yesterday, after consuming the dealers fill up, so I haven't gotten on the gas much yet. I did once in Sport mode and was surprised how spunky it was.

Just shucking with you. As I said, Ford didn’t write the book on the stupid noise. It was the cover-up to get the V-8 die-hards to accept the replacement for displacement. I agree... it’s STUPID. I hated on my 2016 3.5L. I suspect it’s gone, or will be. In fact, I really don’t recall it in the 3.5L I test drove before getting my 2019 3.0L.
Does my 2018 2.7 Ecoboost do this as well? I am hearing impaired so I wouldn't hear it anyway. I only know that the engine is running by watching the tachometer.
I agree it's kind of a gimick, but they all do it including BMW and Porsche.
The 3.5 EB might need something, I have a problem at times knowing how fast I'm going when passing. Mine has the 3.75 rear axle and accelerates almost too fast when floored. I find there is a whoosh followed by Pss sound and I'm going too fast (much too fast at times) Fastest thing I have ever owned and I once drove a Sunbeam Tiger!

As far as I know only Lariats and up have this feature. So your XLT should not.
