6.0 powerstroke electrical issue
So I turn key back and full power everything works dome ligjt is fully lite amd all. One battery is 1 month old. The other is a year old. I left the key on and wiggled some wiring around the harnesses and I can see the dome light flickering and getting brighter. Maybe bad ground? Maybe the 1 hear old battery is toast? Wemt.to crank this morning and fired right up nd drove 60 miles to my job. Truck runs good. Something is up witha bad ground maybe or they battery. Did wiggle the cables nothing happened. We let sit for 10 mins to take a smoke brake. Went in and eveything was let and it cranked over for 2 seconds an then did exact same stuff was doing as I described above. So I no motor.isnt locked up or anything like that. It is fully bulletproofed as well. Any suggestions whld be great. O both batteries 12.3 volts. But still. That one year old battery could still be bad. Bad cell maybe. Batteries can have 12 volts and have bad cells and be bad so I domt no. Left at my jobs house thankfully hes a buddy if mine so I jus ledt there this evening and plugged the block heater in because its 28 in Missouri right now
truck always runs great its my.dsily work truck. Thanks. Any other questions feel free to ask. Just so weird when I go to turn the key it like loses power from.skmewere. turn key back to regular position all lights go back to fully bright..
If you can wiggle and get a change, and if sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, that's typical of a bad connection. How about taking some pictures and posting them of the tops of the batteries and where you can move the cable to get a change.
are hooked up in parallel. So it you have a new battery and a tired one. The new one will never reach a full charge. The symptoms your describing sounds to me like your not getting full
power to crank and the mix of batteries is one thing that can do that. Also bad batteries can take out the alternator and low voltage will do noting but bad things to the FICM. I would first
put a good set of batteries in the truck and while you are getting new batteries I would also take the alternator out and have them bench test it.
