How do I remove the Sub or speaker on the center of the dash? My USB ports are not working and I was told the connections are under there. I had some wiring replaced a couple years ago due to a water leak in the cab and I think it was left unplugged. I checked the fuses and they are ok. The truck is not under warranty any longer and i'm pretty sure I can fix it if I can get in there. Trucks a 2016 XLT with 5.0

Well for starters, it’s definitely not a sub. Lol
If your USB ports are not working, the first thing you should do is remove the actual USB housing and see if it’s actually plugged in.
A plastic pry tool is all you need or if you don’t care about cosmetic damage to the plastic, a small flat head screw driver or a butter knife.
The connections for the USB are not under said speaker but if you want to remove it, pry off the speaker cover and remove a couple of screws that hold the speaker in place.
Looking for a way to get in there without prying damage please. This is why i don't take my truck to the ford dealer...they work like monkeys with pry bars and phillips screw drivers. There must be a way with real tools.
I used some "trim" tools to get in there and indeed it was not plugged. Thanks for the input on removing the USB housing... not so much about using butter knife on dash though..lol

Glad to hear that you found the issue.
I don’t know if you have the 8 inch SYNC 3 screen but if you do and if you’re interested, remember that if you want to use Apple CarPlay, you’ll have to replace the USB hub for one that’s compatible. No worries though, they’re relatively cheap and can be found all over Ebay for under $50.00 dollars. Simply remove the old one and plug in the new one and in less than 5 minutes, you’ll have Apple CarPlay.
Go onto BuiltRite industries. Look at the metal dash rack they offer. On the same page, I’d a video of how the complete dash dish gets removed... with tape for protection.
