I have to change the head gasket on my 95 7.3. I have I a overhead hoist rated for 200lbs. Can that lift the head? Is it possible to do this job without pulling the engine?
Yes you can remove the head with engine in place. I have taken a 7.3 head out by myself, so its doable, it's heavy though might want to use the hoist or have someone help ya out.

Thank for the heads up! I got a nephew that might be “The Missing Link”, I’ll get him over, put a pound of Jerky on the head and he’ll get it out!
It isnt fun, but it wasnt bad either. Remove the exhaust manifold so you dont damage the up pipe. You may have to get creative with a wrench on the fuel line on the back of the head. I had to cut a notch out of a 12 point box wrench to get the fitting off. All in all it took about 2 hours to get the head off.
Make sure you detorque the head properly. Removing the head bolts should be in reverse of their installation
