Head Gasket

What will be the hardest part about replacing the head gasket on my 1999 f-150, 5.4...passenger side....thanks

The passenger side head gasket leak is a known issue on that vehicle. (I've had it myself). There are many threads on this board covering this issue. The hardest part may be getting access to and then removing the head without damaging the mating surfaces. Some guys have had luck in doing so. Here's a link that may help you:

When mine was done by Ford (I was lucky and didn't have to pay for it), they take the cab off the truck to make it easier to work on. Easy to do when you have a 2 post lift

Have the head surfaced checked. It is usually not true and this is what caused the oil leaks to start with. You can probably mill it flat, but it will change the compression on that side of the engine. I would do both heads so that the compression is the same on both sides.

never done one on a ford truck before but on most new vehicles the biggest problem is just getting to the head
