1996 bronco HVAC switch

Alright I've researched this couldn't find anyone else having this problem. My HVAC in a 1996 Bronco switch is leaking I was having a problem with the AC going into defrost mode with applying a load on the engine. I've check all vacuum lines all are good no leaks, until I heard it coming from my dash/ HVAC switch. I've replaced the switch twice and still hear a leak coming from the switch while it's in the off position. I've replaced the check valve on the fire wall as well. Before I buy another HVAC switch I wanted to see if someone could point me in the right direction.

I think you should pull the glove box out and see where the leak is.

Most of the newer F-series trucks after around '93 or '94 divert to defrost mode when heavy load is applied to the engine. I believe the MAF trucks are wired this way. '96 model Bronco could possibly have this.

My '95 Eddie does this. I've replaced the HVAC switch in the past. Sometimes a hissing sound is evident when the switch is changed or if it's selected into the OFF position. It should only be momentary though.

Could be a break in one of the supply lines from the engine to the switch or a cracked vacuum reservoir.

I've check all my lines, reservoir, I'll took out the glove box. The only place I can hear a leak is the switch. Im just wondering if anyone else has had to replace this switch multiple times to find one that doesn't leak. I know what you mean when you change the setting on where you want the air to go a little vacuum noise it makes. It the constant air leak I hear while in the off position you hear coming from it and the change of air flow while it's on max ac when load is applied. I shut the bronco off and you hear all the vacuum escape from my switch in the dash.
