As far as I know, it was specifically designed to go around the TTB from axle of the 80+.
However, I think most fitment issues come from trying to use 80+ headers on an 79 and prior, since they need a lot more room.
I don't know from experience though, and I don't know if there's a way to find out without just fitting it.
