Faulty ICP?
Truck in question is my 2000 7.3 with 143k on the clock. Over the last six months or so I've noticed the trucks idle randomly surge at times. I can hear it surge and also notice the tach moving ever so slightly. It will do it when in park or stopped at a light. Doesn't matter if the engine is hot or cold. My ICP sensor and pigtail are void of any oil. The other day at work I was letting it idle in the parking lot and it started surging. Not surging violently but enough that I could hear the change. I unplugged the ICP and there was a short hiccup in the idle and then it smoothed out and idled better than is has in a while. Is this the sign of an ICP sensor on its way out?
I do monitor the ICP with my edge cts and it always seems to be within the right parameters.
