2006 F-350 6.0-liter diesel. I have a pretty often intermittent problem. The engine spins and dies immediately. FICM is 48.5 volts always. I paid someone $802 to replace the fuel pump. It still does the same thing. I am reading that the Fuse Block under the dash may be the problem.
Anyone know what wire I need to tap into to see if the pump is getting power when it fails?
That said, several things are known for shutting down the engine - electrical problems with ICP, IPR, EBP, and even the FICM. You can have a bad FICM even w/ good FICM MPower readings.
Whoever led you directly to a fuel issue and an $800 expense doesn't understand this motor.
The fuse relay under the dash is a 2003-2004 problem. The 2006 has the fuel relay and fuse under the hood as well as a separate fuse under the dash going by Rusty's image, but check your manual under fuses.
IMHO, that's way too much to pay for a new pump. Even paying dealer prices for the pump, that's still $400 labor for a job that takes less than 2 hours. Walmart has Motorcraft pumps for $212.
