I have a 2016 explorer XLT with the V6 non-turbo. when we use the auto start function the defrost blows cold and the seat warmers never turn on. We have tried the last known settings feature as well with no change in behavior. The Explorer is still under factory warranty and has been seen by ford with no fix. They say they are aware of this issue and at this time do not have a fix available. Anyone else experience this issue and if so what was the fix.
I've never used the auto start hardly at all in my Explorer, as it sits in the garage. But on my F350, there isn't a way to have the seat warmers, or seat A/C come on with remote start. It will have whatever on, that you shut the truck off with on climate controls.
Perhaps you wouldnt mind parking outside and trying your auto start. make sure your controls are set accordingly. If the temps are low enough the heat/defrost should be blowing hot in 5-7mins and your seats should be warmed up.
Well it must be standard for all Fords. The Explorer does the same thing as my F350. I had the heater blowing, and the seat warmers on when I shut it off. Upon re-start with remote start, only the blowers come on, no seat warmers. I don't think there's a way to over-ride that feature. Guess you'll have to "rough it"
All of these features turn on depending the outside temp reading on my next door neighbor's 2018 XLT. Steering wheel heat, both seats and the defrost come on when remote starting. Sounds like a software issue.
