I am trying to figure out what kind of rear end was put on my truck. I have a 1984 Ford F-250 extended cab utility truck, with a 351W C-6 tans. I was told it was a 1ton rear end but I can not make heads or tales of the tag that is on the rear end. A pic is included so any help would be great. I know its rusted a bit but thats the best I can do, I didnt want to loose any thing off it.

If the tag pic had been posted horizontally, I might have been able to read it.
As it is, there is an AXLE code stamped on this ID tag, but it's too faint to make out. Post what it is.
AXLE code printed on the Certification Label, glued to the left door face below the latch. Post what the code is.
1984 F250 could have a Ford 8.8" integral, Dana 60, Dana 61-1, Dana 70. 1980/84 F350 would only have a Dana 70.
is this better, from what I can read
top line 4 10 (upside down triangle)E4T (cant read looks like AD)
Bottom line 6 5197 2 ( cant read but looks like ES)

Reason: adding more
If you need to change your gear to get your speedo correct, you pull driveshaft/tailshaft housing, then remove a little funky metal clip that is hard to replace which holds the plastic gear on your tailshaft. At least that's on a turbo 350, I haven't changed speedo gear in a C-6 before. the plastic gears in various colors (ratio) aren't that hard to find, but that little clip that holds it IS, be VERY careful with that clip. I lost mine and had to go beg several transmission shops before one finally sold me one.
