I just purchased a 2006 f350 Harley Davidson edition truck. I did not notice until I got home there is only lockouts on the passenger side. The driver side has a harley center cap. Does anyone know is this correct, or is something wrong here?
Here are pics of it the manual lockout is on the passenger's side. The one with the center cap is on the driver side. The manual hub is set to auto so im guessing they replaced the hub with a manual one. I have not tried to see if it locks in yet. Im guessing since its set to auto it will work when the dial is turned in the truck. I hope that's all it is. Let me know, Thanks
the center cap is probably hiding the lock out hub, pop it off and see. Also if the hub says auto on it it is an auto locking hub. The manuals say locked and free.
Looks like the cap is just missing off of one. Just pop the other one off so they match. They are auto with the option of manually locking them if the vacuum fails or you just choose to.
owned 4x4 all your life and didnt realize thats just a plastic hub cap
I'll take that sarcasm! I will have to look at first glance it looks like it sits under the lug nuts..... wow that was a good one I've got nothing to come back on...lol

Sadly the more common scenario is it fails in the reverse: one hub won't fully UNlock and so it makes horrific banging noises for awhile as you're driving down the highway, like holding a light switch at that threshold where it arcs. BTDT
My '08 had this problem. My '11 didn't even get the Auto hub option and it's the best thing EVAR IMO. I grew up turning dials, I can still do it. Plus there's no driveline noise if I just leave 'em locked all winter - works for me
