Hello everyone and thanks for taking a second to read my post. I’m looking for long tube headers for my 1995 f150 351w 2wd for my future rebuild project. The reason why I’m having such a hard time is because I can’t find any that have smog/egr tube hole in the front of the passenger side header. If anyone could help it would be appreciated
To my knowledge, no one makes a set of long tube headers for these trucks with the EGR provision. I've heard that PaceSetter did at one time, but that it was discontinued a while back.
I just deleted the EGR and ordered a set of pacesetter’s to get rid of the holes. I had a leaky set of manifolds anyhow so it was mandatory. Either that or you put some stockers back on there.
Won’t find long tubes with emissions that I know of. Can get long tubes and have a muffler shop weld in bungs for emissions sensors.
long story short if you live in a. Place that requires strict emissions cough cough commifornia, not worth the extra 10hp for the hassle and money.
Do a 6 liter tune and if you want serious hp run a smog friendly top end kit. Stock headers flow well enough its the intake side that’s gonna cause the majority of your restriction.
on a budget : roller rockers and edelvrock high flow intake.
I have a set of speed daddy stainless headers (cheap eBay ss set) on my 5.8l with egr port, hooked up and functional. They didn't fit well but a few hours ovaling flange holes, ports, and modifying the primary that was blocking the starter location got them squared away. Been on the truck 3 years now, haven't had any issues. Fitment sucked initially though, can't stress that enough.
