2003 gear shift
2003 F350 4x4 diesel
pulled into reverse and something let go?
Gearshift just flopping around, had to crawl under and shift into drive to get home from the bush.
Nobody knows what makes this tick?

Look up under the dash at the steering column. There is a screw that typically works loose making the shift sequence sloppy. If it came out...hopefully if so the screw would be on the floor board...then I can see your scenario. If not, then a cable probably broke.

Figured out
Well figured out whats wring but nor sure on the fix?
took plastic piece off top of steering column .
theres a grey potmetal piece that runs from gearshift lever diwn the steering column.
i can see its broken in half?
