E350 Fuel pump, return line question

Can anyone tell me if the OEM fuel pump in a 2005 E350 (5.4L gas) has a return line that extends to the bottom of the tank?

I am installing an after-market heating unit that taps into the return line but it will only work if that return line extends deep into the tank, to access fuel when the tank is low (obviously).

Any help on this is appreciated. It appears that new/replacement fuel pumps have return lines that go to (or near) the bottom of the tank, but an expert's input on this would be ideal.

There seem to be at least two different pumps available in the Motorcraft/OEM brand, one with (PFS304) and one without an auxiliary port (PFS303). Perhaps contact your local dealer with the VIN and get the Ford or Motorcraft part number in order to view images of the pump not yet installed. Maybe not as reliable a source would be RockAuto's online catalog pages: Motorcraft Fuel Pumps

I've had my '03 pump replaced but never paid attention to where the return line exited---I would guess near the bottom but don't rely on that guess.

Good luck with your heater hook-up---let us know how well that fits your needs.
