electric fuel pump install

im installing a new airtex e8090 fuel pump, i replaced the old plastic line with new rubber line, what my question is will this pump pull the fuel out of the the tank to prime its self ? its going to be mounted close to the tank right were the selector valve wasyup its gone and front tank only and lower than the tank...

i would not use rubber line on the suction side of the pump. you are setting yourself up for a collapsed fuel line.

If it is a roller-vane pump, or most any pump actually.. it should pull fuel just fine within a given distance. If you get the good rubber line its actually just fine for suction, never had a problem with the cheaper line either.

Electric Fuel pump install

Here's how I did mine. Thought you guys would like to see the thread that I posted. Has some pics and references of how I did it and what I used.

I have to say, the pump works PERFECTLY, and so does my installation!
