I've never messed with turbos before, but from what I can tell reading threads here, this used turbo I bought is sticking. Checked all my connections, checked for exhaust leaks, CAC tube leaks, sensor tube is clear as is the fitting going into the intake. My KOEO readings were in line. Started the engine with the air intake off and the compressor wheel is spinning.
I just don't get any boost. The VGT gauge on my SGII starts in the 70s when I turn it on, but quickly moves to 85 and stays there. The BST gauge reads 0.1-1.0 even if I give it throttle. This is all sitting in the driveway. When I drove it for the first time last night, the turbo dash gauge never moved.
Dang, can't take it apart to clean up the unison ring because the dismantler marked all the bolts, so I'll take it back and get another one, unless Razzi has made any progress on my original.
Took that turbo back to the dismantler, and we opened it up to check the unison ring. Very stuck. Got it off and cleaned up, and now it will turn a bit from side to side, but once the actuator **** hits either extreme, it still sticks We sprayed it down with PBblaster and worked it back and forth for 20 minutes and never got it to move freely off either end.
So, I'm back to waiting on Razzi. He said he'd look at mine today. I hate sitting here day after day going broke because I can't get my truck back on the road.
