I had a Clunking noise coming from my driverside front wheel well, so I replaced the hub assembly to find out it was the other side instead. So I replaced that hub as well there’s no clunking and no ABS light. Sway bar disconnects I gotta check still, but ujoints didn’t have play. Driverside axle shaft was fine passenger seat had to move the shaft to get the hub back on. Now when I drive I hear a light skimming noise as if a caliper is slightly touching the rotor type noise.
Sorry for late replying. So if you’re referring to the dust shield or whatever you wanna call it, it was flush to the rotor so I bent it outward and the noise went away, but now I notice at 73+ there’s this humming noise. Like I’ll drive it’ll start quite hum a bit then go away and then come back and so on. But if under 70 it doesn’t make it

If that backing plate is bent just right it could be catching air at those speeds and humming. Compare it to the other one and try to make them similar.
So the noise is rarely now. Back plate is good I checked the ujoints. But now when I turn around corners and what not I hear a clunking like something is binding...
So I crawled under it. Sway bar is tight hubs are still tight driverside ujoint I turn and it’s sturdy but turns freely. I checked the passenger side the ujoint itself is tight but the axle has play in it, I can wiggle it with my hand it wobbles. I saw there’s suppose to be play in it but I dunno if it’s excessive play or not
so I checked springs and shocks and anything front end wise and everything seems to check out to be correct. The passenger side shaft still has play on it. The outer seal is broken, it has been for a bit cause I seen it leaking months ago. Still chasing down the clunking noise when turning. The humming noise stops when I turn on the highway doing 70+ but once I straighten out it hums again
yeah I seen your post and I was following it. I checked u joints, hubs are new, front shocks and springs are new, I’m about to check ball joints here soon to see if they are bad
I know you said sway bar is tight but I had a similar issue and it was one of the drop links for the sway bar.
I had them off to press in new Energy Suspension bushings along with a bunch of other front end work. Shortly afterward I developed a clunk , especially when turning and going over a bump. Even though all the parts I worked on "felt" tight I put a wrench on every bolt I could get too. The driver side sway link upper bolt was snug , probably loaded a little by the sway bar, but was not tight. After torquing it no more clunk.
