Engine Interchangeability 4.9 I6 1987-1996

I am looking to inline-6 swap my 1996 351w F250. I am well aware of all the wiring differences across the years. What I am curious about is if, say, a 1990 300 I6 will connect to a 1995 300 i6 wiring harness. Are all the connectors on the engine the same for the various sensors and whatnot, or were there changes in the connectors on the engine?

Once again, I am aware that there is a difference in the firewall connectors from the 1992> years to the 1993< years, if I remember correctly, as well as differences in the E4OD's harness due to changes inside the transmission. I will have the correct wiring harness, but I don't know if a 1995 harness will connect to a 1990 300 i6.

Thanks for any insights or help!

I believe it will as long as both trucks are 49-state trucks. The 4.9L did not go OBDII until 1996 but CA trucks may be different.
