I have a 2002 f-150 king ranch with electric seats. I'm pretty sure my switch is bad. However, in trouble shooting i took out the 3 motors for the seat and just cant keep the pieces together enough to put it back in place. The seat has not been removed, (not must space and trying to be a contortionist )which i would have done except the rail is over the one bolt and no way to get the 55 torx plus socket on it. I tried pushing on the seat to get it to move, but its having none of it. I'm thinking that with the motor out the seat should be able to be pushed forward or backward. I haven't tried pushing really hard of hitting with a hammer to coax it along. But, before i try this i thought i would find out how it moves first.. Should the seat be able to be moved as i think or does something else have to happen to get it to move?
Update: I could not get the seat to budge pushing with my feet or hitting with a hammer. I pulled the side cover off (the lumbar **** just prys off. It was difficult and i though i was going to break it. But, it finally popped off. With the cover off there was enough of the gear exposed to get vice grips on it. I could rotate the gear and move the rail away from the bolt. Probleml solved
