Noticed on the auto temperature control for climate that when we select to have more airflow to an area using the appropriate switch it turns the auto temp off. Looking in manual I couldn’t determine if that’s the intended way or it’s an error.
From my understanding, if you select anything other than the temp while on Auto, it will disable the Auto function.
This is my experience. I use Auto most of the time and have few issues with it. If it's too warm in the cab but I want more air, I roll down a window or open the sunroof to cool it down.
Auto is auto as long as you set the temp and forget about it. Lol
Here in South FL, I set mine to 60 and to blow only through the front vents. I adjust the fan speed depending how hot the truck gets.
The heater may get turned on a few times in the year...
It's actually a very sophisticated system. If you leave it in auto, it will put air where it's needed based upon outside temp and the temp you select. When it's cold, it will automatically direct air to defrost or defog, to the floor, to the side windows, and a little out the dash vents depending. I always leave mine in auto or in OFF with the window down.
I leave my truck in auto and love it. Windows never fog up and I'm always comfortable in conjunction with the heated seat and steering wheel. The only time I mess with it if my feet are hot or cold from the conditions before I get in the truck, it does impressively well.
