Good to hear from you jeff! Went past your old stomping ground (amoco site) last week. Glad you're back in the saddle. Good luck with your truck! Larry
You guys are the best friends a guy can have! Thanks for all the positive comments! I guess I am full of excuses, but I do enjoy fixing others problems or projects. I get that halo of appreciation, and it feels pretty good to help out.
So maybe I really am beating myself up for not being a self centered selfish fool, that nobody wants to be a part of? LOL
I guess I should be careful what I wish for,
ANYHOW....I will keep in touch here, and maybe get my build thread rolling again soon!
For myself being retired, I never dreamed how busy I would be. As You mentioned, helping the adult kids and mentoring others is a natural part of life. With Winter coming on, my Truck just went up on Jack Stands for a 40 item list of tasks and changes. The difference now however is that my body is 12 years older.....
Good to see you back, your build was one of the first I was looking at before I started truck #1...which is still not being worked on due to issues beyond my control, but truck #2 is long done and has been a great driver. It is freezing cold here in NY but we are taking the F1 and the caddy up to a charity benefit later today, just got them out to be ready to go.
I need to get my notifications setup again. It use to come through my email, but I don't look at my email daily like I probably should.
I will be renewing my membership here in the next few days, I have been here since 2010 ! Gonna sign up for 3 more! Might need that much time to get the wiring done! LOL
Thanks for all the good replies.
Present and accounted for in the sidetracked club!
seems I cant finish a project but it sure is easy to start another one....
Good to hear from you Jeff. Little by little, that's what I keep telling myself anyways...
Jeff,
I dont even have a truck to work on and keep getting busy with other things in life that seem important. And like others have been busy on non truck things. In my case its tractors. I have had 4, maybe 5 ok 9 I think, since I retired 6 years ago.
Looking forward to your posts and pictures!
Regards,
Chris
just like eating an elephant, ............ one bite at a time. Good luck hang in there . I belong to the sidetrack and postpone club myself, yep just the way it is.
.I could qualify for a high position in this club. Got my truck in 1987 and have worked on and off ever since. As everyone mentioned, life gets in the way not to mention other projects that I already had and have since accumulated more. As I originally got it. Much rougher than it looked. 30 years later and still not finished. Having too much fun with it now, so why get in a hurry now!
Recently acquired a corvette project that I should have left where I found it.
