I don't recall seeing an indicator light on the dash at all.

Pull the passenger headlight out and use a jumper from the ground terminal to a good ground and then try it. Might need to have a helper do the switch end while you hold a grounded probe to terminal on back of headlight. Just sounds to me like a bad ground on that passenger side. Sometimes a dual filament bulb with two hot wires and a bad ground will find a ground back through the other side or filament to system.

Try it.

Then, if it seems to be the issue, likely just a matter of needing a new plug spliced in … if the fault is in the plug itself which is likely.
