Hey all I have acquired in the last year a 2010 F150 and I occasionally haul trailer, ranging from dump bed to low boy. I was wondering if its possible to buy some upgraded leafs for it to help with sag or if you can put f250 springs on a f150 and if it would be worth it any help appreciated. Ive read about airbags and I don't want to go that route i wouldn't use much
are you overloading the rear end, or are the springs shot ? You can add a pair of bolt on overloads if your talking about a little help, but trying to turn a 150 into a 250 is not a good idea , load wise.
what does the trailer and load weight, and how much tongue weight are you talking ?
By no means am I trying to make it into a 250, just wanting to help with the squat. As much for load It depends sometimes like stated I pull a dump trailer and varies whats in it. Other times I haul a 72 charger I have that setup probably like 5-7k depends on weight of trailer which I'm not sure of and yes, I know how to load a trailer. I guess if they make bolt on helpers maybe that would be a good solution I was more or less looking for that or just a set of upgraded bolt on replacements
I've gone with the route of add a leaf and made the right a lot harsher when empty but was fine when I towed my trailer. Went with airbags and didn't regret it. Nothing special, no on-board air just a valve to air up / air down from my air compressor. You really get the best of all worlds that way - preserve your daily ride quality and remove squat when needed. If you aren't towing all the time and don't need helper springs the air bags is the best compromise. If you towed most of the time it would be a no brainer for me. This was on my 2011 f-150.
