Saying hello
I have a question, though.
I can't find any info on 7.3's in the '04 year models. According to Wiki-, Ford stopped all 7.3L production n the second quarter of 2003, and all 7.3's were only available through the 2003 year models while Ford was ramping up production and implementation of the repalcement 6.0L engine.
Typo? Transplant?

Ford US did stop production, so you are right about that. Our ones we got in Australia were from the Brazil plant. Ford US sent them all the stuff starting in 99- 00 , Brazil screwed them together as RHD and shipped them to Australia.
From what I have read I have come to the conclusion we must have got the leftovers that Ford US wanted to get rid of. Heard of our Aussie ones having forged rods as late as 04 . Have heard some have PMR in 01. Mines got a PTO box from factory and I have seen a few others like it. Another I seen has a standard 4r100. Mates one had a HD box from factory. So specs seemed to be all over the shop. Haven't checked if my motor has forged rods or PMR yet so csnt comment on that one. We also run 2 steering boxes (Yay 2 to flog out
) so one on the left then a rod to the right side where we do the steering from. We also didn't get the dash cluster with the digital odometer readout, no overhead display thingy on any I have seen either, oh and no glove box with the RHD conversion which is a bit of a pain in the **** but liveable. I think that's the main differences. May have missed some that I am unaware of.
Does the same "extended years of availability" also hold true for the 6.0 and 6.4 platforms?

Nope we didn't get them. After they dropped the 7.3 in 06 that was the end of the f250 in Australia. Hence why resale value is stupid high on them here. There isn't many round and most people if they have them keep them for a long time. Parts prices are inflated too and usually cheaper to go overseas for them unless you are in a hurry for it of course.
There are a select few 6.0 an 6.4 which were imported and converted here privately or through a conversion company. Then the 6.7 come out and one of the conversion joints got a some kind of manufacturing import license , they get them direct off Ford US and they convert them here and sell them as new as a manufacturer I think it is.. Totally seperate to Ford Au. Who weren't happy about it and tried to stop it from happening but hey they weren't bringing them in. Still dont see too many though when they want 150k AUD for them.

You are not driving on the right side, left side or wrong side of the road, you are driving on the correct side. When we returned to the states in fall of 2005, I pulled out onto the incorrect side of the road a few times.
Engine bay looks pretty clean and stock. Brake res located on the left threw me for a loop. Get the air intake squared away, no leaks or it will "dust" the turbo. Ford AIS or 6637 are my recommendations, unless you plan on modding for big power. K&N filters are generally disliked because they pass more dust especially when not cleaned/oiled. Which is almost always. Or be like all your mates and get a snorkel. AC compressor looks new. Alternator looks weathered and I think that's good. Usually that gets replaced first when the real culprit is bad custom wiring of aftermarket gizmos.
Can I bother you for another pic? The rear light lenses.
The hood scoop is not to my taste but otherwise a very nice truck!
Compressor is new. Radiator was replaced 8 months ago. Alternator is the original as far as i am aware. HPOP was redone about 12 months ago and seems really healthy according to Torque. Tested it today and it holds 2950 for a while before it drops off when giving it a bootful
Wouldnt mind a higher output one though with running the fridge in the truck and when the trailers plugged in so I can charge the batteries from the truck.
Definitely need to sort out the air intake side. Going to test for boost leaks this weekend if I get the chance. I'm thinking the turbo is probably due for a rebuild as it seems I can only manage 14psi boost as read through Torque with MAP sensor. Haven't got a proper gauge on it yet so can't 100% confirm. Have thought about a snorkel to bring some cooler air in and to help get the intake up out of the dust on unsealed roads. But that may mean custom air box too
The lights have amber indicators in them. Funnily enough the lights are a direct swap with one of our other utes here. The BA falcon so easy to get hold of.
