TSB 19-2274

Hello all. New to posting, but have been reading for years. Thanks for the wealth of knowledge that has been shared. My truck is currently sitting at the dealership for death wobble. This is the second time. 2017 F-350 6.2L CC SRW 4x4 with plow prep (HD springs up front). The first time it happened was at 24,500 miles. They replaced the SS. Was good for about 10K miles, then it came back with a vengeance. This experience was terrifying. It’s currently sitting there waiting to be diagnosed, but the service manager warned me he wouldn’t be able to replace the SS anytime soon, as they are currently on backorder. Mind you, this is even before they pulled the truck into the shop to inspect. I know a new SS is just another band-aid. I have read that a new TSB came out in September of this year….TSB 19-2274. This one supersedes 18-2268. Both of them start by inspecting the SS. However, the latest TSB involves setting caster angles to the higher end of the range (opposite from the previous TSB?).

Anyway, I can’t seem to find the text from the new TSB. If any has it, can you please post it, or link it? I’d like to have that info handy as I am sure I will have a fight on my hands to get Ford to dig deeper than the SS. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the info. I was expecting more to that TSB. Looks like Ford is doing even less now to "fix" the death wobble situation. Just slapping on a new SS and pushing us out the door. Since I am near the end of my warranty, I'm afraid I'll have to bite the bullet and take it to an independent shop for a good inspection. I think I am going to go the route of adding a new, dual steering stabilizer system.....to a bone stock truck

I haven't experienced DW on this truck and hope I never do, but if all they are doing is a steering stabilizer RR, I would try a good alignment shop. A good alignment shop should be able to find any worn parts that might contribute to it, but also, depending on where your caster is currently, it might be worth trying additional caster. The dealer would most likely just give you the, "its within spec" response.

To me, my truck right off the lot, feels like it could use some more caster.
