Installed the carb today. And was able to get the truck to fire up. It wouldn't idle but at least it will run. When adjusting these, should idle mixture be adjusted first or curb idle?
Installed the Carb, and was able to fiddle with the idle and the truck runs like it did before I replaced the seals in the carb. Sounds like a monster without a muffler I will call it Sulley.
Also was able to get nameplate info off the Transfer Case
Rockwell Standard
Model T223 C4
Ratio 2.05
Serial 8 66-0022
Napco (this was also stamped on nameplate)
The front Axle has raised lettering cast
Napco (on the front right side of diff housing)
and 208E (raised lettering on the back side)
These folks might be of help. I didn't go through the whole thing, but what I saw seemed to be mostly pickups and 1 tons. You may find some help there regardless:
Emailed Chuck Mantiglia of , Chucks Trucks and he responded with this: I have knowledge, but the only parts available will be bearings. Anything else will have to be custom made. I would guess they pulled that axle out when they installed the 2 speed rear. Would have been easier to pull the front driveshaft, but who knows? You can't have 4 wheel drive and a 2 speed rear. Even if by some miracle one of the ranges matched the front ratio, there would always be the chance that somebody would shift the rear to the other range while in 4 x 4.
Chuck
So 85e150 mentioned the truck decoded with a single speed rear axle. So if I put the front drive shaft and axle shaft in, it is possible that I would have destroyed the front end unless someone else did it already. I am not ready to tear into the front diff just yet I would like to get it to my garage first.
