Hi all,
Looking for some advice on how to proceed before spending unnecessary money on parts.
Early 99 f250 4x4 automatic transmission 4r100. The truck only shifts from 1st to 2nd if you rev up really high and then let off, sometimes it takes a few cycles of doing that to get it to shift. After that it shifts normal.
OD off light blinks, pulled codes P0755 and p0705. I replaced the TRS and did not improve shifting.
I inspected the wiring on the transmission for any chafing or corrosion and it all looks great.
I am thinking about ordering a new solenoid pack but would like your opinions first.
Transmission fluid is not low and was recently changed.
P0755 means that shift solenoid B is malfunctioning. It needs to be replaced, so yes, you need a new solenoid body.
Did changing the TRS make the P0705 code go away?
Ok so I replaced the solenoid pack and the filter last night, put the pan back on and then put in about 4 quarts of fluid. No more codes and it shifts!
When I drained the fluid it was all a light brown color and the pan had a ton of black fluid all over it. Cleaned it all off of course. Probably not good though.
