Hi guys I am working on 03 e350 cutaway. I just install power windows and locks. I and decided to go with 2014 door panels and factory switches with no harness. I got aftermarket connectors I cant find the switch pin out wiring I need to know what wire goes where .i tried online manuals but they do not have switch pinouts . Anyone have that info Thanks
Does anyone know were i can buy that info? i do not want to buy a full repair manual i have factory manual for my 03 i just need to know what wire goes where on window and door lock switch
The 2014 door panels would have switches wired as though they're to be part of the CAN-bus network installed more and more commonly for PDL's & PW's---the '03 might have RKE but no where nearly as "complex" as the later year E-Series.
Typically when you're trying to graft a newer year electrical part into an earlier year system you'll need the EVTM or "book of schematics" for each year. These can usually be found on eBay for affordable prices---its how I've done such things in the past. Here's one example: 2014 E-Series EVTM
Yea i am trying to wire with out any modules just with switches. i did buy that wiring book you linked i was hoping somebody has done this conversion before or is it even possible to do?
It is possible to do---you simply have to compare the van you're modifying with the door panels/switches you have, both via the EVTM's for the respective years. The biggest issue will be splicing the wiring from the '14 donor doors into the 03's wiring harness. Your '03 does not yet have the CAN-bus network like the '14 would have so you're not really wiring into or around any modules.
The CAN-bus network doesn't change the way PDL's work--just what the signal has to pass through from the switches to the door lock motors on vehicles equipped with that system.
I did not have power windows or locks on my 03 just installed both so i do not factory wiring just hoping somebody has done this all ready and can tell me what pin on switches go where thanks
