Anyone running a fitech efi? Not much talk of it lately. Have had a few issues with mine.. Just looking for people to bounce ideas.. Troubleshoot etc.
Thanks
Brent
I have it on my 1966 with a ‘74 390 engine. I am very happy and it hasn’t missed a beat. I installed an FI-ready tank in the rear with an in-tank fuel pump, hard send and return lines and in-line microfilter. The threads on the forum here, mentioned above, are helpful. I hope you’re not running the fuel command center....
Hi.. Yes I am running the command center and figured it out early on.. And modified lol. Just having some weird idle issues now. Can't seem to keep iac steps in check. Have replaced tps and coolant sensor. It's almost like a random vacuum leak. Not too sure yet... Cold here now so not working on it too much.
Vacuum leaks shouldn't be "random" but continuous. Have you called tech support? They seem to be helpful as compared with some other companies. I can't help you with any comments regarding the iac steps, because I haven't had to modify my settings to that extent...only idle speed and air/fuel ratios. There is a good tutorial on youtube, however, that might help you. I think the guy is with Nashville Broncos. If that's not correct, you should still be able to come close to it. He goes into some of the advance settings and, since it's still Ford, might help you out.
Thanks I'll look into that.. Silly thing is I've been running this set up for a couple of years now with no issues... This is a recent development. Doesn't seen to like Temps around the 0 degree celcius mark. Runs great on the road. Wondering about installing a return line from the throttle body. Currently only has a return from command center. Might be a spring project now lol.
Yes.. A little back story. New reman longblock. Approx 70k on it new Motorcraft tstat. Operating temp 199-203 degrees f. Has run very well until just recently. Can set warm idle iac to around 7 steps. 780rpm. Then after a drive idle is 12-1300rpm iac steps read zero. Reset iac idles OK then next stop after a drive it stalls....
I have one on my '79 f-150 which I daily drive except in the winter, and another on my '79 bronco. I like them, they work great. I do think that the Holley Sniper has a better digital display.

Stock style tanks with a 6an bungs welded on. Through a fuel filter, and an external 255lph pump. Each tank has the same set up with a one way valve. A three way switch on the dash controls which pump is on, there are valves behind each fuel door to control where the return fuel flow goes. I also have a line that runs between the two tanks with a shut off valve so I can let the fuel from one tank flow to the other if a pump fails. It's kind of overkill but I don't want to stranded. When I pull my camper I run 93 in the front tank and have the rear tank full of 87.
Thanks for the reply.. Wondering if I will go that route. What brand of pump did you run? Are they noisy? I see fitech sells a kit now 50001.that gives you their pump fi hose and all the an fittings.

Pumps are from Walbro. they run about $110 each on Ebay with 6-an fittings. You can hear them if you walk behind the truck when It's running(I have a side exhaust), but I can't hear them from inside the truck or near the front.
I had one on my '77 and was disappointed in the quality especially of the software. I did finally get it to run right in the end but sheesh. This was on a mildly modified engine, about 375 horse 408.
