Tire Hum

2018 F-150 19k miles HankookDynapro A7'M (?) 275/55R20 tires... Anyone else hear them hum 25-45MPH ? The noise changes with speed but not throttle; coast, decel, accel all sound the same.

It might be too late, but you might want to rotate them and get an alignment.
Some tires are more likely to hum than others, but if it’s something that has developed over time....it’s possibly an alignment and wear issue.

a pic from the side of the tire, showing the tread blocks, will help identify feathering.

They are Hankook ATM's, an all terrain tire. As some tires wear they get noisier, I have no experience with yours but it's entirely possible it's just a factor of mileage.

Yea, they get louder as they get older.
I dumped mine at 70k just because of the noise..... but 70k on that tire is pretty good.

Note: mostly highway miles.

It's a lease, so the dealer rotates their tires so I don't wear them out unnecessarily. I only hear the noise from the rear, I should have said that.
Thanks to all!

My 2015 had 20" wheels and those tires, after about 10,000 miles they sang pretty good and I had them rotated at the oil change as well. The more an all terrain leans toward a mud tire, ie larger blocks the nosier they are. I have 18" Michelin "all terrain" tires on my 2018 which more highway tire than anything whine pretty loud on some roads.

So the tires were rotated again yesterday as part of the 20k service. A short drive showed the hum was still there, still rear only, maybe a slight bit quieter.

Researching tires, I started with the Hankook as a baseline. "Not recommended for severe snow" caught my eye!

Since my next two trips are into snow country, one towing, I ordered a set of BFG All Terrain KO2's. I had great a experience with them on my Excursion.

Stack the Hankooks in the garage and put them back on when you're ready to turn in the lease. Then you don't get dinged for tire wear.

Yeah, unless I can find a buyer after full disclosure. Tire dismounting/mounting ain't cheap here.

If you can find them, get a set of Michelin LTX M/S 2’s.

If the noise is coming from the rear only I'd suspect a developing problem with either the rear end or rear wheel bearings.
