I'm looking to switch out the cloth seats on my F150 STX Supercab 2013 for some leather seats. Iv'e started calling around some salvage yards.
My question is do all the 2009 - 2014 seats fit if they're Supercab model? If not, what years are exchangeable? Additionally, is there anyway to hook up electrical seat controls like seat heating if my truck doesnt come with that as stock?
I ask because in early van models you swap different model years and i have done that before. Does anyone have any experience with it? I'm in the greater Pittsburgh PA area.
Might want to have a junkyard cross-reference it by part information. A lot of the self-serve junkyards are happy to do that, and are surprisingly accurate.
There will be differences in trim levels, Some top line trim levels have 2 buckets and the center console goes thru the center, Some lower trim models have the fold down jump seat console
For the heated.cooled seats you will not only need the wiring harness from the seats but also the switch/controls that are dash mounted.
here is a website that shows some of the different configurations...I am not endorsing the website as a seller just a reference source.
I went through this process with my truck; what I discovered was for 20 dollars difference I could get reupholstery kits from online retailers like leatherseats.com, The Seat Shop, Katzkins, and so on. I enjoy a good DIY project, I liked the idea of not having to deal with older leather in an unknown condition, and mating up different years wiring harnesses. Just something to think about.
Which ever option you choose, Im sure you will enjoy the new seats!
