I had two new tires put on my 2010 Expedition. The very next day my TPMS said there is a Tire sensor fault on the dash board. I was not worried about because I just had new tires put on figured it would go off when I started my truck again. Most of the places I drive are about 10 miles from my house, so it did not come back on. Then one day I had to drive about 20 miles and the light came back on and goes off again when I stop at a red light or get to where I am going. Dealer can not find out which tire because if it is on it goes off when I put my car in park. Ford Dealer is who put the new tires on. I have been driving it and if I drive straight for about 20 miles the light comes on and then goes off when I stop. Dealer does not really want to figure out what is wrong with it becasue if is on one of the new tires they really don't want to fix it.
They say:
The battery is going bad you just need to wait until it goes completely out.
The cold weather is causing it to go off so the change my air
Now they say it could be the module and not sensor at all
Any idea on what is causing this and how to fix it?
I'd start by checking the pressure in all of the tires. Check first thing in the morning before driving it and before the sun has had a chance to shine on any part of any of them. They should be exactly the same.
I just remembered a post here that was about using a USB adapter in the power socket.
It was discovered some of those adapters were making the TPMS trouble codes to appear.
Just thought I would mention it.
I don't agree with the dealers first two reasons they gave for the problem.

Same problem here too. Mine has been going on since June. Got 4 new tires and TPMS started going off. Went back to Discount and they said maybe it was the sensors...so I got 4 new sensors. Still get TPMS light after 25-30 miles of continuous driving. Checked pressure several times and no change. Now I'm so use to it I don't even worry about it. I just hit the reset button when it goes off and keep driving. Interesting note about the USB adapter...but that was in the car before the TPMS issue started.
