I thought the idea was to not fill the tank? Run it down to a couple gallons then add 2.5gal; leaving plenty of room for expansion (7.5 gallon capacity).
No, It is ok to do a complete fill but only if you use the right ford spout so you don't overfill it. They already have allowed for the expansion of the DEF. Regardless of the 5 gal tank or7.5 gal tank.
I would always suggest a run down and then a complete refill. Less opportunity for the system to get confused. I know there are plenty that fill at the half way mark or whatever and been fine too.

The stuff is like $8 per 2.5 gallon tank at Walmart. I grab one jug when i think of it while there. Leave the empty jug in the shopping cart as I drive off. I doubt I’ll delete this truck, the complaints are over exaggerated.
