NO, if the hat comes off guess where it is going? Change the hat out on it or go to a junkyard and get another one. The reason I said junkyard is they are cheaper and you still have to change the o-rings. Or you can order one online.

Absolutely not, you need to replace it. The rest of that plastic tip will break and fall into the cylinder. Once the tip is gone the fuel spray pattern will be non-existent and the cylinder will not fire correctly.

Stonedpony said you can replace the hat. I’m pretty sure autozone sells an o ring kit with a new hat so I think they can be replaced. I ended up replacing the injector.
