Duralast Hydroboost System Power Steering Pressure Line Hose 80246
Fits Your Vehicle I had to buy a new hose as well. My truck has hydro boost and this hose goes from the pump to the boost. It is also the same one that is in rubbing prox of the driver side intercooler pipe. But the rebuild kit is the greenback savior. $8.46 at Rockauto.
My question is this. Do the tired seals keep it from pumping pressure as it should? That's what the issue ends up being with these trucks.
Depends on how much fluid your losing. Some parts are designed to transport fluid, build fluid pressure, and hold fluid pressure. If any of these fail to do their job, there is a break down in communication the vehicle and the operator. ATF alone is an amazing product for lubricating, cleaning, and cooling to name a few. There are two O-rings inside the pump that I could see would maintain pressure. I can tell you that my daughter said she no longer hears the high pitch whistle coming from the direction of the pump. And I can tell you it no longer leaks and turns great. I never heard the whistle.
If you buy the new pump, buy you a rebuild kit too. If the old one is trash, your only out 10 bucks.
