VIN Decoding Help

I bought a truck and for a donor and was wanting to see what kind of rear end etc. it has. I only gave the guy 200 dollars for the truck. just would like to know the specs. on it.
Thanks guys, you all have really been a big help on my stuff so far.

Are we to understand that this could be one of the first slicks ever built?

No, it's a 1961 assembled in August 1961. 1961 production began in October 1960, the 1961 serial number range: 100,001-205,000.

These serial numbers pertained to all series' of trucks and Econolines, not just to F series trucks.
