Replacing transmission

I swapped in the new ZF5 today and was pretty surprised at how much weight the bell housing takes on from the motor. I had to jack the transmission up probably close to 8 inches to get the support back under it, the motor was tilted that much. When I traded in my old trans the guy that took it looked at the bell housing to make sure it was not cracked he said they crack frequently. It seems odd that those few bell housing bolts carry that much weight. Anyone added any type of support?

When we put our engine back in I had said to my dad “there’s no way it’s only these 4 bolts” but sure enough, that was it. I have to assume that once everything is together the weight gets better distributed but can certainly understand how those housings crack, especially on the ZF5
