Towing screen is now default...?

I towed the trailer the past two weekends, and after this weekend's activities, the towing screen is now the default after starting the truck.

I usually leave the screen on digital speedometer, and navigate if I want to look at something else. Is there a way to force the screen for what I want at startup?

Yep, my 19 is same way. Even before I towed. Was like that the day I got it. No big deal I guess.

Most likely you disconnected the trailer with the truck shut off. I do it all the time. When you disconnect with the truck turned off, it doesn't reset the towing screen back to 'no trailer'. Not the way I would have designed it, but hey, I'm not Ford.

To fix it, from the towing screen, go down to the trailer setup screen, go into 'select trailer' and pick 'no active trailer'. Then put it back on the digital speedo, and you should be good to go.

Thanks. Wheeling again tomorrow, so I'll try both methods at the end of the day.

chances are In your information cluster , under trailer options you still have either your trailer selected or bliss selected for trailer use. You just go in and unselect that setting and it should resort back to your normal setting when you start the truck.

I keep hearing of the scenario where the trailer is disconnected with the truck shut off. I do it several times a week and the trailer screen never appears at restart time.
I think that it may be true if you keep a trailer stored in the screen. In the 2017 I recently traded I once had 2 different trailers stored, mostly to keep track of tire mileage. But I would forget to switch trailers or to activate a trailer when I would tow, so the mileage thing really didn't work out.
Once I removed all stored trailers from the memory, the trailer screen at startup went away and I never had the problem again. I have no stored trailers on my 2019. 3 - 4 times a week I unhook this trailer when the truck is not running. Not once have I gotten the trailer screen at restart. So unless you have a specific reason to keep track of your trailer on the truck's computer, don't bother with it.

I only have the one trailer, but yeah, I've found the same thing with the mileage being off. I didn't set up the trailer for mileage tracking. I thought, (but admit, I could be mistaken) since it was a while ago, that I had to set it up in order to setup the Ford trailer TPMS system.

I see. I've never had a trailer with TPMS so it was never a factor for me.

I haven't verified it but my truck seems to know when I'm hooked to the boat or the fifth wheel. My assumption is it is based on where the umbilical cord is hooked. I know it does show a trailer detected logo on the dash screen for the fifth wheel but not sure if it does that with the boat. I'll pay closer attention next time. I do have both my fifth wheel and boat in the system. It seems I have to go in and tell it no active trailer after most tows even if I forget to select a trailer after hooking up otherwise I get the towing screen on start up. My honest opinion is Ford made it too complicated with that system.

I always heard the scenario as well and it never happened with my 2016 F150 even though I towed every weekend until earlier this Summer it started doing it out of nowhere. After 60K+ miles and the same trailers that screen became my default for some reason, with or without a trailer connected, disconnected, disconnected engine on, disconnected engine off, no trailer at all etc.

My 2019 has only done it once so far.
