I feel stupid now because I thought you meant a used fuel pump lol. Yeah the HPOP is used but it is out of a 97 truck just like mine and I got a gasket for a 97, the engine the pump came off of ran fine. Also I got a warranty from the guy I got it from, he told me if it doesn’t work he’ll give my money back or give me another pump.

I also watched him do an oil pressure test on it before we pulled it off and it’s getting plenty over 500 at start up.

Update: I have put the newer pump in and it seems to pump better but still not pumping enough for starting. I assume the ipr maybe bad even though it’s new cause I did drop it when I got it in the parking lot. Didn’t think that would be a big deal but it may have been. I also used a bit of ether to see if it would fire up, now when it’s cranking over it sounds like it has low compression in one cylinder maybe. Idk I’m ready to get this thing running. Lol I also slammed my finger in the door to. I fixed some wires on the loom going to the ipr to. Any ideas would be appreciated greatly. I also have a wait to start light and my tach is moving. Also can anyone give me some insight on if I possibly bent a rod maybe.

Might not be cranking fast enough. It has cooled off even down here in Texas. Crap starter and weenie batteries will not help.

I also thought that same thing, I’m gonna dolly the truck home and work on it at home instead of in houma Louisiana lol. I know ether can cause a bent rod but I’ve also heard it usually takes a lot of it to cause that. I only squirted a little while I was cranking on it. It fired up for a split second then died. Then I cranked it over without and it sounded like that. Also I think it could be that it’s trying to fire up possibly but idk.
