Tailgate elevate repair
Anyone repaired a tailgate release?
77 f250, one of the passenger side bolts has a missing receiver (part to thread the bolt into). So it doesn’t want to release. I have the handle out now, is there a Truck to replacing that part so I can get a bolt in?

I’m confused. Are you saying that one of the three bolts holding the latch into the tailgate is stripped? They screw into the handle from the inside side of the tailgate, so a new center latch/handle should do you if that’s the case. But you said you already have that out...
Are the bolt holes you are referencing on the tailgate or the back bedsides?

Good question, I wasn’t clear. It’s one of the two bolts on the side of the tailgate where it engages with the bed to latch and unlatch.
one of the bolts is gone due to the bolt receiving part being gone, so when I tried to open with the handle it wouldn’t fully release to open the tailgate.
