These guys don't have lines on them and my truck sometimes idles a little rough. The egr was valve was removed and covered by the previous owner. The one on the left appears to be the egr control switch and im not sure what the other is. Do they need to be plugged/hooked up, or are they fine how they are?
If they have no vacuum lines going to them they are good the way they are or if you want un-bolt them and remove.
I don't know about the wiring as my truck did not have that set up.
BTW what is it we are working on like the year might help why it sometimes idles a little rough.
Dave ----
It ran like garbage when i got it, idled bad, misfired ect. Ive done plugs and wires, fixed a bunch of vacuum leaks and replaced the crankcase breather element and air filter. It runs WAY better but still idles a little rough and sometimes up and down.
Well you just said why in runs like crap.
The computer needs ALL that stuff in place and working like the factory had it or it freaks out, goes into limp home mode read runs like crap, till the issue is fixed.
That is why the idle hunts as it is trying to compensate for the things not working or missing or both.
I bet if you were to pull the codes you would most likely have a lot.
Don't know what to say at this point sorry.
Dave ----
Truck runs perfect except when idling and that's only sometimes, so its not in "limp mode" or anything like that.
So you say.
Pull the codes and tell us what they are.
The computer is trying to make adjustments for something that is not right.
Bet you get bad MPG also?

Ya'all keep talking about codes, who wants to tell me where i would even plug a scanner into this truck? Theres definitely no port under the wheel on the left like a newer vehicle would have.
Have you capped off the two nipples on the throttle body? You mentioned them on your "Pcv valve/vacuum port question thread". Otherwise they're vacuum leaks.
Believe it or not, Ford invested a lot of time and money into the engineering of this engine, and simply removing the "electronic crap" won't make it run better. You will probably find that it never runs "just right" because it looks like there are a lot of missing pieces.
Pulling codes is easy. You can spend about $30 on a Ford OBD-I code reader. Innova 3145 is the one I use. You connect it to the harness on the driver's side fender. You can also pull codes using a paperclip. I trust you can look on Youtube to find a video explaining how.
I would respectfully suggest that posting questions a bit more graciously might net you better answers. You would also do well to research some of this stuff so (1) you understand what the answers mean, and (2) so you know what to ask. All that said, I'm out. Good luck.
