Steering box challenges
Just a rant; the box started leaking and I got the replacement lower seals and set to work.. getting the Pitman off was #1 task. Finding a puller wasn’t easy and the tool rental one were too small, and I ended up buying one at Princess Auto and filing a bit off the insides to get a fit. It took both feet on the breaker bar to get the arm off. I dug the outer seal out without much trouble and got to the snap ring and that ****er took hours get out, But it’s out and that’s got me to the inner seal and that bugger is stuck in real good. I got a little movement and working now to get under it without scoring the shaft or bore. I’m in for a lunch break and thinking of making a tool to do the job. Rant over

Well I got it done and after a day it doesn’t leak. FWIW the auto supply place has 2 listings for the seal kit, one for a shaft with 32 splines and one for 36 splines. I bought both and learned the 36 spline shaft is thicker. Makes sense.
